The church was established on May 17, 1982 under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Starting with just a few members, the church has grown to an average attendance of about 120-170. Our main objective and goal in everything we do is to meet the needs of people with the same love and compassion that Christ displayed when He provided salvation, healing, and deliverance to the multitudes that He came into contact with. We are now in our new facility at 2875 South Kerr Blvd. (Hwy 59 South.)
Gary Mullen, is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He has 36 years pastoral experience, fifteen of those years at Oak Ridge Assembly. During his tenure at Oak Ridge the congregation has grown tremendously both spiritually and in number.
This growth has led to the need for more space. Sixty acres of land just south of Sallisaw on Hwy. 59 was purchased in 2005 and totally paid for in 11 months. Being well on our way, we began to work on getting an official, stamped and approved set of architectural plans. In the meantime, we were also working on site preparation and utilities. All of this has been accomplished and is paid for. Next we built a 40×80 food distribution building. One end of the building currently serves as a maintenance shop to store mowers and equipment necessary to maintain the property. Once again God provided the finances. We recently finished the approximate 20,000 sq. ft. facility. Our new facility includes a new sanctuary, Sunday School rooms, nursery, offices, multipurpose room with dressing rooms and showers, and a large commercial kitchen. We are excited to move forward as the Holy Spirit directs and the Lord provides.
